It conclusively proves the repeated withholding of vital primary evidence, the misleading of parliament, systemic perjury, and even the misguiding of the media. It exposes the direct actions, taken by named individuals, in pursuit of self-interest, and at the expense of an innocent citizen.
However, these events did not occur in a vacuum. They occurred within a wider context, in which motive and intent were pivotal, in which previous behavioral patterns were of fundamental importance, and in which the identity of influencers and beneficiaries was central.
Examination of these aspects sheds light upon the mechanics of decision making, and upon the character of those involved. It reveals conflict of interest, and a culture of indifference, in which impropriety and malfeasance were allowed free rein, to become business as usual.
It demonstrates that in this quagmire of political and commercial malversation, Schapelle Corby never had a chance.
